Social Listening Analyst
Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze customer, marketing, and web behavioral data.
  • Write both syndicated, ad-hoc and custom market research reports, based on in-house data and other best-in-class sources of competitive marketing intelligence to inform clients about digital marketing and social media strategies.
  • Show willingness to assist in reporting daily/breaking news in times of crisis and/or for events (i.e., PR, industry developments, industry conferences, etc.).
  • Work closely with diverse teams to create and present data-driven recommendations across many topics (i.e., launch and optimization of social media campaigns, discovery of new categories, analysis of digital landscapes, identification of social media influencers, delivery of competitive intelligence reports, etc.).
  • Deep dive analysis into consumer digital and social media behaviors to craft insights that are data-driven and support high-level decision making.
  • Spot digital trends and telling a story with the data on how they impact cross-channel marketing, including emerging and not yet widely adopted trends/channels.
  • Understand business needs and design appropriate reporting and analytic solutions on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or ad hoc basis.
  • Quickly identify abnormalities or unexpected results in reporting while analyzing a variety of data sources.
  • Develop and present learnings from your analyses, including actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Deliver insightful, visually interesting reports for clients with implications and next steps.
  • Present insights in-person, over the phone, and via webinar to clients.
  • Track and adhere to timelines and deliverables for long and short-term projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 3-4 years of experience
  • High sense of urgency
  • Solid understanding of online analytics and social and digital metrics
  • Proficient with web analytics concepts and tools
  • Ability to thrive in a discipline where tools, technology and skills are constantly evolving
  • Independent time management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent writing and verbal communications skills with a proven ability to summarize and present complex findings clearly and concisely – both written and spoken
  • A team player in a fast-paced, complex, and sometimes ambiguous business environment
  • Ability to distill analyses into concise recommendations and present to various levels of audiences up to the executive level
  • Demonstrated ability to apply statistical rigor to analyses (significance testing, regressions)
  • Strong data interpretation skills with the ability to translate findings into meaningful and compelling stories
  • Strong attention to detail

Preferred Experience

  • Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Market Research/Insights, or Business majors preferred
  • Healthcare and/or pharmaceutical experience preferred but not required
