RipeConcepts spent five days gaining new insights, reaching a wider audience, and expanding our network at the 2018 Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) Global Leadership Conference (GLC) on March 5-7 and YPO Edge on March 7-9 held at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre, Singapore. The YPO is the world’s premier network of chief executives with about 24,000 members from over 130 countries. Founded in 1950, it provides an avenue for young executives to share ideas and expand their network globally.

Present were our CEO and YPO member Paul Lyon, his lovely wife Melanie, COO/President Miles Nepomuceno and Al Hadessa Lim from our Cebu headquarters, and Yvonne Jong from our Hong Kong office. As one of this year’s Venture Marketplace sponsors, we were able to showcase to the YPO our business highlighting the new RipeConcepts app that we developed, which introduced attendees to our services, portfolio, and the #RipeLife. Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong spoke at the YPO Edge where he shared his thoughts on how he deals with disruptors, planning for succession, hiring the best talent, and leadership lessons he learned from his father and the first Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew. Legendary tennis player and human rights activist Billie Jean King, meanwhile, spoke about making a difference where she asked the audience to ask themselves if they are making the world a better place. “Every person is an influencer, everyone in the company is. Never forget that,” she said. To bring about change, she added that people need to listen to others to find out what they can contribute. “Everyone has a great story to tell. If you’re bored with someone, you haven’t asked the right questions.”
